Job Description

As a Midrange Engineer, provide a range skills to facilitate installation, implementation and administration of solutions across multiple midrange platforms.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Engage in midrange server, storage, data protection and virtualisation implementations and transitions
• Interface with architecture, design and project teams to provide midrange support and advice on projects
• Review and provide feedback on technical designs
• Mentor junior team members
• Interact with vendors to ensure SLA adherence and timely troubleshooting of issues
• Provide outstanding customer service through efficient issue resolution, escalation and clear communication

Requirements

• Previous experience with three or more of the following tier 1 technologies:

o VMware
o Citrix
o Microsoft (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Virtualisation etc.)
o Unix/Linux
o EMC (Storage, Data Protection)
o HP (Hardware, Storage, Data Protection)
o IBM (Hardware, Storage, Data Protection)
o Symantec (NetBackup, Enterprise Vault, BackupExec, SEP)

• A current NV1 (or above) security clearance
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the ICT industry, preferably within large environments
• Experience with data centre migrations
• Capable of monitoring, performance tuning and reporting in a complex enterprise environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills with professional presentation

Desirable

• Relevant industry certifications are highly desirable
• Experience in a service delivery role in a 24x7x365 environment
• Understanding of ITIL methodology and practices
