A complete package of leading
providers integrate with
Buttonwood Cloud Broker

Buttonwood has researched, tested and analysed technology to find the tools and applications that will most benefit you. Buttonwood Cloud Broker is integrated with technology providers and will continue to expand our network.

AWS (Amazon Web Services) is the world's largest cloud provider and it is continuing to grow each year.

The AWS ‘Cloud Provider’ plugin provides native cloud services to Buttonwood Cloud Broker. It delivers the compute, network and common services (such as load balancing), as well as AWS specific services such as RDS (in a variety of options, including Postgres, SQL Server and Oracle).

EMC NetWorker (formerly Legato NetWorker) is a suite of enterprise level data protection software that unifies and automates backup to tape, disk-based, and flash-based storage media across physical and virtual environments for granular and disaster recovery.

Within Buttonwood Cloud Broker, the network plugin supplies a ‘Protection Group’ policy type that can be applied to specific environments. When a workload is deployed in an environment with the Networker ‘Protection Group’ policy, the Broker communicates with the Networker server and registers each compute instance as a backup source. Because the Networker server is typically on the enterprise, this plugin is effective when workloads are deployed within a VPN that allows network visibility between the cloud instance and the Networker service.

Puppet is an open-source configuration management tool which is designed to manage the configuration of Unix-like and Microsoft Windows systems.

Within Buttonwood Cloud Broker the Puppet plugin allows selected Puppet classes to be dropped onto compute instances on the Buttonwood Composer. Puppet classes, in conjunction with an agent installed by the Broker on the cloud instance, communicates with a Puppet ‘Master’ server. This ensures that the instance will eventually reach a known configuration state. This can be used to install and configure software, such as operating system services and applications. In some cases Puppet classes can be used to install a full stack applications in cloud.

ScienceLogic is a monitoring and reporting tool that can watch many different types of environment, including on premise infrastructure and cloud compute/services.

Within Buttonwood Cloud Broker, the ScienceLogic plugin provides a mechanism to register each deployment as something that needs to be monitored by ScienceLogic. This is called tagging. Tagging each instance/service in the workload will allow a correctly configured ScienceLogic installation to correctly classify each instance as to whether it should be monitored or not. ScienceLogic can be configured to raise alerts and integrates with ServiceNow.
